Ayodhya Tour Package Cost 2026: What You Actually Pay
Most people asking about an Ayodhya trip are really asking one question: what will this cost me? The honest answer depends on four things — how you travel, where you sleep, how many people are with you, and which month you pick. Below is what each of those actually does to the bill.
Package prices, as they stand today
| Package | Duration | From (per person) |
|---|---|---|
| Ayodhya Ram Mandir VIP Darshan Tour | 3 days / 2 nights | ₹4,999 |
| Senior Citizen Special Care Yatra | 3 days / 2 nights | ₹5,999 |
| Family Darshan Package | 3 days / 2 nights | ₹6,499 |
| Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi | 4 days / 3 nights | ₹8,999 |
These are per-person rates on twin sharing. A single traveller pays more because the room is not split; a family of four in one room usually pays less per head than the table shows.
What the package price includes
In our packages the rate covers the hotel, a vehicle with driver for local movement, darshan assistance, and a coordinator who is reachable on the phone the whole time. Breakfast is included at the property.
What it does not include
This is where budgets go wrong. Expect to pay separately for:
- Travel to Ayodhya. Train or flight is on you, and it is usually the largest single line in the budget.
- Lunch and dinner. ₹400–700 per person per day at ordinary restaurants. There is no alcohol in Ayodhya.
- Temple offerings and prasad. Whatever you choose to give.
- Cloakroom and locker charges at the temple complex, typically ₹50–100 per bag.
- Local autos and e-rickshaws if you wander off the itinerary — ₹30–150 a hop.
- Ponies, palanquins or porters if you go on to Kedarnath. Not applicable to a plain Ayodhya trip.
What actually moves the price
Season. Ayodhya is busiest around Ram Navami (March or April) and Diwali, when the city runs the Deepotsav celebrations on the Saryu. Hotel rates in those weeks can be double the shoulder-season rate, and the good properties sell out two to three months ahead. Late September to November, and February to early March, give you the best combination of weather and availability.
How you arrive. A train ticket in sleeper class from Delhi costs a fraction of a flight. If your dates are fixed, book rail early — the Ayodhya-bound trains fill up.
Where you sleep. See our guide to where to stay in Ayodhya for the area-by-area breakdown. The short version: ₹1,500–2,500 a night gets a clean mid-range room, ₹3,000–5,000 gets you a proper three-star with reliable hot water and parking, and above that you are paying for proximity to the temple rather than for luxury.
Group size. Transport is the line item that falls fastest as the group grows. A car and driver cost roughly the same whether one person or four are in it.
A realistic three-day budget for two people
| Line | Budget | Mid-range |
|---|---|---|
| Return train from Delhi (2 people) | ₹2,400 | ₹5,600 |
| Hotel, 2 nights | ₹3,000 | ₹7,000 |
| Darshan assistance and local transport | ₹3,000 | ₹5,000 |
| Meals | ₹2,400 | ₹3,600 |
| Incidentals | ₹1,000 | ₹1,500 |
| Total for two | ₹11,800 | ₹22,700 |
So roughly ₹6,000 per person at the lean end and ₹11,000 per person in comfort, excluding shopping.
Three ways to spend less without ruining the trip
- 1 Travel midweek. Wednesday and Thursday nights are consistently cheaper than Friday and Saturday, and the temple queues are shorter.
- 2 Share transport. If you are a group of four, one Innova is cheaper than two sedans, and much cheaper than four people arriving and leaving separately.
- 3 Book the darshan slot before you book the hotel. A slot on the wrong day is what forces people into an extra unplanned night.
The mistake worth avoiding
Paying a deposit to someone who cannot show you a registered address. Ayodhya has grown fast and the number of people claiming to arrange darshan has grown with it. Pay a token advance if you like, but only after you have seen a GST invoice or a verifiable office — ours is at NH 28, Deokali Bypass, opposite Hotel Panchsheel, Ayodhya Dham, and you are welcome to call +91 84008 08200 and speak to a person before paying anything.
